Paul Weller, Around the Lake

Mike Moloney and I were recently approached by Paul Weller about our film 24 Hrs Here. We agreed to let him use part of the film for the lead single on his new album. Have a look at his website for more info, www.paulweller.com

Never one to rest on his laurels, Paul Weller is a musician who is always evolving and on March 26th 2012 the next phase of his evolution begins with the release of 'Sonik Kicks'.

On his eleventh solo album Weller continues to the push the boundaries, looking forward rather than back unlike so many of his contemporaries.

Sample a taster of what's to come right now on www.paulweller.com in the form of album track 'Around The Lake'.

The track is accompanied by a sequence from a short film that Paul is a fan of called '24hrs, Pavey Ark' which was directed by Mike Moloney & John Hooper.

'Around The Lake' is available to download from iTunes, click here to get your copy now.

'Sonik Kicks' features appearances from the likes of Noel Gallagher and Graham Coxon, the full tracklisting is:

1. Green
2. The Attic
3. Kling I Klang
4. Sleep Of The Serene
5. By The Waters
6. That Dangerous Age
7. Study In Blue
8. Dragonfly
9. When Your Garden's Overgrown
10. Around The Lake

See Paul Wellers website for pre-order info.

Island/Universe film by Mike Moloney and myself

During our time in La Palma our initial idea had to adapt and change due to circumstances beyond our control. The landscape and weather dictated our processes and we recorded our vision of La Palma.

The show is into its first week and yesterday Mike and I were interviewed for Artycok.tv (The latest news from the European Art scene). The interview should be up on their site in a couple of weeks. Above are shots of the show at _SFTF

24hrs, Here 1.2

From the 2nd to the 7th of November myself and the two gentlemen above went to La Palma in the Canary islands to make a film of the sky for 24 hours. What we ended up with was quite different, the results will be ready for viewing early next year.

24hrs, Here.

Once again I will set off up a mountain (well to be truthful this time it will be an extinct volcano) with Mike Moloney. Coming with us this time is the fantastically talented Chris Hatherill of super/collider fame with whom I have worked in the past. This time we are going further and higher than before, the Astronomical Observatory of El Roque de Los Muchachos. For 5 days (2-7th of November) we shall be shooting, rotating, logging and generally recording various aspects of life on top and above the observatory. Follow our progress at

If You could, 24 hours, Pavey Ark

So Finally I can show the film Michael Moloney and I have been working on, to see it in its full glory you need to visit the show. Thanks again to Tim Phillips for the wonderful music.

The If You Could exhibition opening was last night and I think everyone who got in really enjoyed themselves. Will and Alex did a great job and the event went down so well the queue went on and on. Sorry to all the people who came but couldn't get in; the show is on until the 23rd and I highly recommend visiting.

If You Could

I have been working with Michael Moloney on a short time lapse film for the lovely people "If You Could". Michael was asked to produce a piece of work for their collaborative exhibition in January and he asked me to work with him. I'm not going to say too much here but come along to the exhibition and see what it's all about. If you need convincing have a look here.

Exhibition

The If You Could Collaborate exhibition will feature the artwork produced by all 33 pairings at the A Foundation Gallery, Rochelle School in London. The work ranges from classic framed pieces, to more ambitious, experimental sculpture, film and installation. Alongside the exhibition is an accompanying catalogue, comprehensively charting the process each individual project shown at the show over 312 pages. Included are sketches and workings of the creatives involved, as well as a final representation of the piece they will be exhibiting. The catalogue is published by It’s Nice That in an edition of 1,500.
